11/21/2017 12:00 PM - The Woodlands, TX - November 21, 2017

Congratulations to Scrap Yard Internationals 16U Kendall McGary on her verbal commitment to the University of Incarnate Word! On her verbal commitment to UIW, McGary said, "When I visited UIW, I fell in love with the campus and I couldn’t be happier with the coaching staff. I knew I wanted to be a Cardinal because I'm going to get a great education and have an awesome 4-year softball experience. I can’t wait to play softball at UIW!” McGary is a player on the 16U Scrap Yard Internationals and a sophomore at Obra D Tompkins High School in Katy, TX. Kendall was First Team All-District and Academic All-District at Obra D Tompkins High School.

When asked about Kendall’s commitment, Head Coach Tommy Colonnetta said, “I couldn’t be any happier for Kendall and UIW. Out of all of our committed players, Kendall and UIW are probably the best fit for each other. Kendall is an aggressive, competitive, hard playing individual on the field. She’s very intelligent with a high caliber student in the classroom. Lastly and most importantly, UIW is getting a high character individual representing their university.”

Kendall’s parents commented on committing to UIW, saying, “We are so proud of Kendall's accomplishments on and off the field, her dedication, hard work and perseverance. She continually amazes us. We are very excited for her future at UIW and we can't wait to see God's plans for her. Dream big, Kendall!”
