SYFP Announces 2019 Roster
Conroe, TX – May 7th, 2019 - Scrap Yard Fast Pitch, LLC (SYFP) is excited to announce the signing of fourteen returning players to the 2019 summer roster! After an incredible 2018 summer that reached over 2.2 million fans across the world, SYFP is ready to hit the field again for another summer of great competition against teams both foreign and domestic.
The 2019 roster will consist of a deep pitching lineup, led by former Arizona State National Champion and All-American, Dallas Escobedo! Joining Dallas will be Oregon legend and All-American, Cheridan Hawkins, who will enter her second year with Scrap Yard Fast Pitch. Kylee Hanson, a 2018 NCAA National Champion with the Florida State Seminoles, will add righty power in the circle. Moran Foley, the all-time leader in wins, strikeouts, and innings pitched at the University of Indianapolis will return to the squad, alongside Mississippi State’s all-time leader in wins, strikeouts, and innings pitched, Alexis Silkwood!
Behind the plate for SYFP will be three catchers with plenty of international and professional experience. Taylor Edwards, an All-American from Nebraska, five-year professional veteran, and former Team USA member, will once again be captain of the infield. Local legend and former Texas A&M Aggie, Ashley Walters, will return behind the plate for Scrap Yard Fast Pitch and contribute with a big bat in the lineup. Rounding out the catchers is star of Team Italy and the most accomplished player to ever play at McNeese University, homerun hitter Erika Piancastelli!
Scrap Yard Fast Pitch is excited to sign athletes with significant experience in the dirt, starting with Auburn alumni and former USA Softball player, Kasey Cooper. Kasey’s lock-down defensive play and powerful offensive play will prove a nice compliment to Kayla Winkfield, who will return at shortstop for Scrap Yard Fast Pitch and provide slapper speed at the plate. Kayla will be returning for her second year with Scrap Yard Fast Pitch and will join Alexis Silkwood in representing the Mississippi State Bulldogs! Sam Fischer, a professional player for three years and arguably the most entertaining player on the squad, will contribute to the middle infield, as well as providing depth at first base.
Out in the grass, speed will reign! Longtime Fan-favorite, Kiki Stokes, will return to Conroe for her second season. She will be joined by LSU All-American, Bailey Landry, and Marshall alumni and former USA Softball slapper, Morgan Zerkle.
Once again, Scrap Yard Fast Pitch will play a season focused on fan appreciation, community involvement, and leadership for the next generation of athletes.
Stay tuned in the coming days for an announcement of the official 2019 summer schedule!
