SYFP Wraps Up 2019 Season
Conroe, TX – August 15th, 2019- Scrap Yard Fast Pitch, LLC (SYFP) has wrapped up yet another year of outstanding professional fastpitch softball! Each year, SYFP focuses on bringing the professional game to fans across the country, while giving the fans an entertainment experience that they won’t forget!
The 2019 season kicked off with the International Cup in Columbus, GA, hosted by USA Softball. SYFP went 6-5 and picked up wins against Japan, Puerto Rico, Peru, and China! Scrap Yard finished the tournament in fourth place, while USA, Japan, and the USA JWNT took first, second, and third, respectively.
After International Cup, Scrap Yard headed northwest to Surrey, Canada, where for the first time in program history, SYFP competed in the Canada Cup. After winning six straight games, SYFP fell to the host country in the championship game, earning a second-place overall finish.
Once Scrap Yard traveled back down south, they headed to Lafayette, LA for a three-game series against USA Softball at Lamson Park at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. The Rajun Cajun nation supported strong all three nights and made the ballpark experience one to remember! Scrap Yard dropped games one and three, but picked up the win in game two in a thriller with a final score of 5-4.
To finish out the season, both Scrap Yard and USA Softball headed back home to Scrap Yard Sports, where they played another three-game series. With free attendance to all fans, the stands were packed with excitement! Scrap Yard again went 1-3 in the series, taking the middle game against USA Softball.
Scrap Yard would like to thank each and every fan who came out and watched online this season in support of our athletes! We recognize that what we do would not be possible without the fans, and they are truly who we play for! We cherish each autograph session, selfie, and personal experience that our athletes have with our fans, young and old, and we hope that they enjoyed the season as much as we did!

Connie May – General Manager
“2019 was another amazing season! This group of athletes was PERFECT! Each and every player was a world-class athlete with such a giving spirit. I am so grateful to all the fans that tuned in to watch and showed up in person to cheer these ladies on. I cannot wait for 2020!”
Mike Steuerwald – Head Coach
“Our 2019 team was an incredible group to get the coach on and off the field. To go out and beat the top four teams in the world, including USA (twice), Canada on their home field, and even run-rule Japan for the first time in several years, was a lot of fun to be a part of as a coach. This group played with a great competitive spirit and definitely left their mark against some tough competition.”
Kiki Stokes - Outfield
"This summer was such an awesome opportunity to continue to grow the game and play in front of some amazing crowds.
